Prior to founding Recursion in 2015, Li was a senior trader managing ABS portfolio for hedge fund Altum Capital Management. Before joining Altum, she traded CMBS for Paulson & Co. Li gained her extensive cross-product understanding on both business and analytics/technology from her earlier experience through working at the proprietary trading desk at Bear Stearns, running the financial engineering team of mortgage desk at Citadel, and conducting quantitative research at Morningstar.
In 2015, Li founded Recursion in New York, a Fintech company integrating technology, finance, and big data. In 5 years, Li turned Recursion into an indispensable financial data provider for Wall Street firms and the government agencies. Li holds a PhD degree in Mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago, and a B.Arch. from Tsinghua University. Li also serves as an Industry Expert in Residence for Gabelli Business School at Fordham University. |
Richard KossChief Research Officer |
Richard comes to Recursion with a strong track record of business acumen and quantitative approaches. Prior to joining Recursion, Richard worked as the head of capital markets research at Fannie Mae. He has over 20 years of experience as a fixed income portfolio manager for Wall Street firms, and recently served as an IMF Visiting Scholar and Director of the Global Housing Watch there.
Richard currently works as the Chief Research Officer at Recursion. He leads the research and data analytics projects at Recursion. According to Richard, “Working at Recursion provides me the opportunity to apply cutting-edge big data and digital tools to important issues in portfolio management, research and policymaking.” Richard has a PhD degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Richard is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University, and works on capstone projects with companies including Citigroup and Bank of China. |
